EngageU - Europe's largest FileMaker conference!

EngageU is back!

17-19 November we open the doors at Clarion Hotel Malmö Live and invite you to Europe's largest FileMaker conference!

What is EngageU?

EngageU is a conference with a focus on Claris platform and the possibilities that the platform provides. The conference takes place for the third year in a row and for the second time in Malmö. The conference is open to participants from all over the world and has had attendance from France, Lithuania, Canada, USA, Norway and Iceland as well as India and Australia. To make it accessible to as many people as possible, all presentations during the conference are therefore held in English.

EngageU is the fruit of a good collaboration between Square Moon in Sweden and ClickWorks in Belgium. The contact between the companies had existed for a long time, but it was only when the pandemic restrictions were lifted more at the turn of the year 2022 that we made a move on the matter. We missed the spirit that the predecessor Scandinavia DevCon had where the focus was on meeting and exchanging knowledge.

So far this year, we have over 160 registered participants from 24 different countries!

The special thing about EngageU

More than just Sweden!

As mentioned in the introduction, EngageU is not only for the Swedish or Nordic audience, but for the whole world and all lectures are held in English. This opens up a greater exchange of knowledge and networking across geographical borders.

Well-filled agenda

EngageU is carried out in a traditional way with a planned agenda where experienced lecturers lead the sessions. This year we have three parallel tracks for lectures and panel discussions as well as an extra track where sponsors have the opportunity to demonstrate more about their products and services.

Educate yourself!

New for this year is that we start on Sunday with a pre-conference training day.
Alexis Allen (UI/UX) and Matt Navarre (AI Integration), both well-known in the FileMaker community, will each run longer sessions focusing on training in their respective special areas. NOTE! If you are unable to attend the conference, you can participate in these sessions remotely!

Meet Claris

Claris' visits during EngageU have been a recurring theme since the start, which we greatly appreciate! By attending the conference, you will have the opportunity to meet them and maybe ask that question that you have been pondering for a long time.

Meet the exhibitors

Like last year, we have several valued exhibitors on site who will show and tell more about their products and services. Among other things, you will find experts on performance, hosting and integrations.

Socialize

For many people, socializing is what charging is for the electric car, like balm for the soul or like coffee after waking up tired! We love meeting others, discussing and exchanging experiences around what we are passionate about. This is promoted during EngageU through two purely social events (in addition to the mandatory coffee breaks): a visit to Hyllie Bryggeri on Sunday and dinner at Malmö Live on Monday.
Hot tip! If you have a partner who would like to come along on the trip but not participate in the conference, there is the option of buying an extra ticket to the brewery and the dinner for them !

About Malmö

With around 800 years in the bag, Malmö is undeniably a city that has accumulated a lot of history. Who would have guessed that the city whose name means "heap of gravel" would grow to become Sweden's third largest city and an important part of both trade and industry?
If you have the opportunity, we highly recommend coming down to Malmö a few days before the conference or staying behind after and experiencing the city and all it has to offer.

Malmö's history is visible in many places in the city. In the S:t Gertrud neighborhood where Square Moon's Malmö team resides, you can admire buildings from the 1800s and back in time, as you grab a glass of bubbly from one of the restaurants in the courtyard.
If you want to satisfy your thirst for history in another way, Malmö Castle is centrally located with a museum consisting of three floors and an aquarium in the basement. Diagonally across the road from the building you will find the Technique and Maritime House if you prefer to keep an eye on cars and submarines. If the weather permits, a walk around the limestone quarry in Limhamn is not to be underestimated. You will find a lot of information about its history on signs along the way around.

And we shouldn't forget about the food! With its rich culture and people from all possible parts of the world, it is not difficult to find something that entices in the way of food. We definitely recommend trying Malmö's classic falafel roll while you're here - there are plenty of places to choose from!
If you want more options, Lilla Torg, Davidshall or Möllevångstorget are well worth a visit.

For the daring, we can also recommend a visit to the Kallbadhuset, or Kallis as it is called, in Ribersborg. A historic building for open-air bath from the early 1900s that is extremely popular among both Malmö residents and tourists. It really is a special feeling to go from the heat of the sauna to the coldness of the sea water and open expanses! If you don't fancy a swim, a walk along the beach can be a refreshing alternative.

Welcome!

We hope that we have been able to tickle your interest in both EngageU and Malmö itself and that we will have the opportunity to meet you this fall!

For more information and updated agenda, visit the EngageU website and follow its LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram or Twitter! If you want to know more about the type and quality of the lectures, all of these from 2022 and 2023 are available to watch on YouTube.
